Our new home wine cellar design

Remember when we first mooted turning an old cow shed into a wine cellar and then later actually started?
Work started way back in May ( but only done when we had some spare time which wasn’t often). Walls were white-washed, the feeding troughs filled with concrete, metal painted, old wood scrubbed free of lime and paint and the brick floor scrubbed clean. Quite a job I can tell you!
Prior to that the old cow pens had to be knocked down (me and a sledgehammer!) no photo record of that unfortunately.

.
Well it’s taken a while but here’s the finished home wine cellar (except it’s at ground level) not only a wine cellar but also another entertaining venue……..
If you’d like to contribute some wine to fill up all those empty rack spaces let us know ![]()
We’re doing OK on Bordeaux but need an influx of nice Burgundies both white and red if you’d be so kind.
Here’s the downloadable book we used to make sure we built our wine cellar the right way
