What’s The Best Cigar Cutter To Use?

If you’ve ever made a complete dog’s dinner of cutting a cigar you’ll know what a drag it is! A mashed up cigar, maybe cut at the wrong end - to recover from that you’ll end up cutting and re-cutting to get the cigar back to a smokable state. Maybe you should just of done a Clint and chewed the end off!

No idea what I’m talking about? That’s great! Read this, watch the video and you’ll never be in this unenviable position :-)

Cutting a quality cigar takes confidence, a good cigar cutter and is part of the whole pleasurable process that is cigar smoking - it’s part of the routine that started with selecting your cigar and will soon move on to lighting a cigar and then, the grande finale, smoking your cigar.

I have also tried, and many cigar smokers swear by this, to simply use a toothpick to pierce the cigar’s ‘footer’ and you can buy luxury cigar knives and cutters that do the same thing. Fact is, with no cigar cutter to hand ( to avoid this disaster I keep one on my key ring) I’d use a toothpick, or a match or sharp pencil come to that!

But NEVER light the footer end and put what would be the normally lighted end in your mouth! Put the cigar, carefully, into your jacket’s top pocket ( other than a silk hanky it was made for just this unfortunate situation) and save it until you are better equipped!

But you can’t beat that satisfying SNIP of a good cigar well cut!
